Graphite

Graphite is a noble and intimate medium that I have a deep connection with. Similar in many ways to charcoal, graphite can be paired with an eraser and smudging tools to fabricate a myriad of visual effects. My first experiences creating art came in the form of drawing on paper with no. 2 pencils as a child. I first started learning how to draw faces by watching makeup/contouring tutorials on YouTube and checking out drawing books from my school library. As my skills improved I decided to move away from strict realism and I now I am more interested in abstracting what I am seeing by experimenting with my mark-making process
